In the late 1980’s Nascor Ltd. entered into the Calgary homebuilding market with a new way of building floor systems. Their “Ultimate Floor System” enabled builders to achieve longer spans with a more consistent and durable products, changing the way they designed their homes.
Knowing the value of this superior product line, PinkWood acquired this technology and improved upon it. By applying its proprietary, PinkShield™ coating, the PKI Engineered Joist System was created, developing a superior product. This eco-friendly product line has all the advantages of a traditional engineered I-Joist system but it’s able to differentiate itself by giving every PKI Joist resistance to Fire, Mold, and Fungus. The bold pink colour of the PinkShield coating will give homeowners the comfort that their home is protected and is a healthier and safer place to live.
In addition, we are honoured to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation by donating a portion of the proceeds for every lineal foot of joist sold. This fundraising though the sale of our PKI Engineered Joist System will equate to roughly $20 for every new home built in Western Canada with our product.
